ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND:
The Latin American Network for Research in Professional Midwifery, Sexual and Reproductive Health (REDLIPP) is a regional academic initiative aimed at reducing the research gap in the health of women, pregnant people, newborns, and communities. It includes faculty from Midwifery Schools in Argentina, Chile, El Salvador, Peru, and Uruguay, and is coordinated by the University of Chile’s School of Midwifery, WHO/PAHO Collaborating Center for Midwifery in LAC.

OBJECTIVES:
The main objective of REDLIPP is to strengthen research in maternal, newborn, sexual, and reproductive health (SRH), with a focus on improving professional midwifery practices and advancing respectful, evidence-based care across the region.

METHODS:
Collaborative research is organized around four key areas: education and training, quality of care, evaluation of evidence-based practices, and the development of monitoring and follow-up indicators, through the development of multisite projects. The network operates primarily through monthly virtual meetings via Zoom and holds in-person sessions during regional and international conferences.

RESULTS:
Since its creation, REDLIPP has jointly developed six multisite research projects. Findings from these projects have been presented in symposium format at regional and international conferences of the International Confederation of Midwives (ICM), submitted to academic congresses, and resulted in publications in indexed journals. In 2021, the network was awarded funding from the Research and Development Office of the University of Chile to support digital events, leading to the First Latin American Colloquium on Research in Maternal, Newborn, Sexual and Reproductive Health.

CONCLUSIONS:
REDLIPP has become a key collaborative platform for academic exchange on clinical and educational research in professional midwifery and SRH. It contributes to generating evidence to support more respectful, inclusive, and person-centered health systems in Latin America.

KEY MESSAGE:
REDLIPP fosters collaborative, evidence-based research in professional midwifery and SRH to strengthen respectful, person-centered health systems across Latin America. Poster session 1 (Group A)
