ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND:
Skin-to-skin contact between mother and baby can begin when the newborn is born, and continued contact helps with short-term and long-term physiological stability, the establishment of parent-child relationships, and the behavioral development of children.

OBJECTIVES:
Purpose: The effects of daily skin-to-skin contact between mother and baby on sleep quality, maternal confidence, and mother-baby bonding in postpartum women.

METHODS:
This study was a quasi-experimental design with convenient sampling, and the subjects were natural primiparas. The intervention was daily mother-infant skin-to-skin contact for one month. The experimental group and the control group filled out questionnaires on sleep quality, maternal confidence, and mother-infant connection on the first and 30th days after delivery.

RESULTS:
1. Independent T-test results of the experimental group and the control group: There was a significant difference in the change in the maternal-infant bond before and after the intervention, and no difference in other variables 2. Paired T test: There was a significant difference in maternal confidence and maternal-infant bond between the experimental group before and after the intervention.

CONCLUSIONS:
According to the results of this study, continuous skin-to-skin contact between mother and baby after childbirth can help promote mother-baby bonding and has positive effects on the baby's future physical and psychological development. As this study is still ongoing, the number of cases received did not reach the power of 0.8, and the results can only preliminarily estimate the potential benefits of skin-to-skin contact between mother and baby.
