ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND:
ETHICS AND CONFLICT OF INTEREST

OBJECTIVES:
To design, implement, and evaluate an educational intervention to strengthen humanized obstetric assessment by nursing professionals.

METHODS:
Design phase. This is a quantitative, quasi-experimental study with a single-group pretest-posttest design. A theoretical-practical educational intervention is currently under construction, grounded in humanistic and regulatory frameworks and informed by the theories of Jean Watson, Madeleine Leininger, Paulo Freire, David Ausubel, and Michel Foucault. The assessment instrument, under development and validation, will measure knowledge, skills, and attitudes regarding humanized obstetric assessment.

RESULTS:
The study is currently in the literature review and methodological design phase. No empirical data have been generated yet.

CONCLUSIONS:
The intervention is expected to strengthen the clinical, ethical, and communicative competencies of nursing staff, promoting more humanized and comprehensive care practices. It may also contribute to institutional development through care models centered on women’s dignity and active participation.

KEY MESSAGE:
Educating to care with humanity: a transformative strategy for institutional maternal health.
FUNDING
