ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND:
Simulation has been increasingly established as an effective pedagogical method in healthcare education, particularly in Maternal and Obstetric Health contexts. Debriefing, as a reflective post-simulation strategy, strengthens learning, enhances performance, and supports the development of competencies.

OBJECTIVES:
To map the existing literature on the impact of debriefing associated with simulation in the training of Midwives.

METHODS:
This scoping review followed the Joanna Briggs Institute methodology and PRISMA-ScR guidelines. Included studies were those published in English, Portuguese, or Spanish, with full-text availability.

RESULTS:
A total of 138 articles were identified, of which 11 met the inclusion criteria. The studies demonstrate that post-simulation debriefing significantly enhances competencies such as critical thinking, professional confidence, decision-making, communication, and teamwork. Various types and models of debriefing were used, with structured approaches (such as Advocacy-Inquiry) led by trained facilitators standing out. The competencies developed encompass both technical skills, such as clinical management of obstetric emergencies, and non-technical skills, including leadership and emotional regulation. Debriefing has proven to reinforce theory-practice integration, autonomy, and readiness for real-world practice. Among the pedagogical strategies, the use of pre-briefing, repeat scenario stations, and realistic simulation scenarios were highlighted.

CONCLUSIONS:
Debriefing associated with simulation is a valuable tool in the training of Midwives, fostering technical, emotional, and ethical development. The involvement of experienced facilitators and the use of structured models optimize learning outcomes.

KEY MESSAGE:
When integrated with simulation, debriefing enhances the development of essential competencies in Midwives. Systematically incorporating debriefing into simulation-based training in maternal health education is vital to strengthen critical competencies and improve care safety. Poster session 3 (Group B)
