ABSTRACT
PURPOSE:
To share insights from the Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG) Program at the Association of Ontario Midwives, which supports midwives in delivering high-quality, evidence-informed, and equitable care while upholding midwifery values in Ontario.

DISCUSSION:
Discussion: The AOM’s CPG Program has been developing, updating, and disseminating clinical practice guidelines (and associated knowledge translation tools) that address priority topics in Ontario midwifery care since 1999. This session is designed to share key learnings to support midwifery organizations in prioritizing the development of evidence-informed resources to support midwifery at a local, national and international level. Key areas of focus will include: -Consulting with midwifery experts and stakeholder groups to ensure midwifery voices are at the centre and clinical guidance needs are being met -Collaborating with clients to ensure resources are applicable -Building capacity to ensure resources are methodologically rigorous -Centering health equity to ensure resources do not reproduce harm -Interfacing with inter-professional guidelines to communicate midwifery standards of care In sharing learnings from the AOM’s experience with CPG development, the presenter(s) hope to encourage midwifery organizations to develop evidence-informed midwifery specific tools to support midwives at a local and international level.

EVIDENCE WHERE RELEVANT:
Evidence: The AOM CPG Program follows GRADE (Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation) methodology to assess evidence quality and strength of recommendations.
