ABSTRACT
PURPOSE:
This abstract presents the strategic actions of the Latin American Federation of Obstetricians (FLO) focused on promoting humanized sexual and reproductive health and strengthening regional midwifery. It emphasizes the importance of continuous training and empowerment of healthcare professionals in improving care.
DISCUSSION:
Humanized sexual and reproductive health is an urgent issue that requires immediate attention. The results obtained from the workshops underscore the need to transform the culture of care in this field, promoting respect and dignity for individuals. The FLO is committed to continuing its efforts in strengthening midwifery training and professional associations, and in disseminating best practices across the region.
EVIDENCE WHERE RELEVANT:
The workshops have shown positive outcomes, with a significant increase in participants' awareness of the principles of humanized care in sexual and reproductive health. Professionals reported improvements in their skills to provide respectful and dignified care. Additionally, practical guidelines have been developed to support the implementation of a more humanized approach in midwifery practice.
KEY MESSAGE:
Sexual and reproductive health care must focus on the dignity and respect of individuals. Through education and empowerment, it is possible to enhance midwifery practices and optimize the care experience in Latin America.
