ABSTRACT
THE LEARNING OUTCOMES:
Midwives acquire tools and skills that can contribute to developing strong professional relationships with women facing vulnerable life situations
Midwives can initiate and implement collaborative care for women who require additional support and care during the perinatal period due to vulnerable life circumstances
THE PROCESS/ACTIVITIES:
To achieve the learning outcomes, the training program will involve the following structured activities:
1:Small Group Case Studies (40 minutes):
-Participants will be divided into 4 groups, each with 6 midwives.
-Within these small groups, the midwives will work together to discuss and analyze realistic case scenarios involving women with complex challenges in the transition to motherhood.
-The groups will identify the key issues and obstacles in developing professional relationships with these women, as well as strategies for providing tailored, interdisciplinary support.
2:Group Presentations (10 minutes per group):
-Each small group will present its assigned case study to the larger audience of participants.
-The presentations will cover the specific challenges the group identified, their proposed approaches to building trusting relationships, and the interdisciplinary care coordination plans they developed.
-The presentations can take various formats, such as oral presentations, role-play demonstrations, or poster displays, allowing the midwives to showcase their learning.
AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION:
After each group presentation, the audience will have the opportunity to ask questions, provide feedback, and engage in discussions with the presenting group. This will allow for interactive dialogue, the sharing of diverse perspectives, and the collective problem-solving of the challenges presented.
