ABSTRACT
PURPOSE:
Gateway Health's Endorsed Midwife Care Program provides holistic support for women's clinical needs and social and emotional well-being. This encourages client empowered to self-advocate for their pregnancy, labour and birth choices. The purpose of the presentation is to showcase an innovative midwife-led continuity of care model in regional Australia supporting vulnerable pregnant women with a focus on multicultural clients. The model is trauma-informed, client-centred and responsive to lived experiences of clients. The presentation outlines how this model is the gold standard for pregnancy care internationally.

DISCUSSION:
This program is an exceptional model of care for vulnerable, regional and diverse women for three reasons: 1) It was developed after a midwife walked into the organisation with an idea for a clinic, passionate about continuity of care for regional, marginalised women. 2) It has been delivered for 3 years without any government funding. 3) It allows women the time needed to feel and safe supported in each session, wrapping social support around the clinical care needed to ensure safer births and better outcomes. Vanessa Page is an endorsed midwife providing an award winning, nationally recognise model of care. Vanessa has seen approximately 60 clients annually, with close to 230 clients accessing her service since 2021. 30% of clients are from a refugee or Aboriginal background. The program works with cultural and pregnancy specialist organisation to ensure high risk, vulnerable women are provided gold class, midwife led continuity of care. Vanessa walks alongside women as a care partner, providing all clinical interventions through a social lens.
