ABSTRACT
THE LEARNING OUTCOMES:
The benefits of acupuncture in obstetrics need no further demonstration. With over 15 years of experience in obstetric acupuncture, we would like to offer a practical and dynamic workshop providing a comprehensive introduction to the safe and effective integration of acupressure techniques into the continuum of obstetric care.
THE PROCESS/ACTIVITIES:
Acupressure is used as a non-invasive (needle-free), low-risk adjunct to conventional obstetrics. This technique is rapidly becoming accessible to anyone - midwives, doulas, and other partners and healthcare professionals - looking to expand their knowledge and practical toolbox to support women throughout their maternity journey.
The aim of this workshop is to provide participants with acupressure techniques that will enable them to improve birth preparation, comfort, and well-being during labor and in the post-partum period.
We'll be running 90-minute workshops for a maximum of 20 people, and we'll need a room equipped with a table, chairs, and an examination table for practicing acupressure. Explanations about the principles of Chinese traditional medicine, the location of acupressure points, and the techniques of pressure
AUDIENCE PARTICIPATION:
We are most comfortable in French, but can also lead in English if required. Interaction
The audience will learn the location and indication of the acupressure points.
