ABSTRACT
PURPOSE:
The aim is to strengthen the undergraduate and postgraduate training of obstetricians in prenatal education through an intercultural approach by organizing sessions for pregnant women and families that include key prenatal care knowledge while respecting each community's language, culture, and worldview. Such an approach can reduce health inequalities and foster acceptance of healthcare services

DISCUSSION:
Peru's rich diversity spans the coast, highlands, and jungle, necessitating obstetric education to be tailored to the cultural specifics of each community. Therefore, educational sessions are designed following the Technical Guide for Obstetric Psychoprophylaxis and Prenatal Stimulation from the Ministry of Health. These sessions include traditional knowledge and practices, such as using the rebozo for labor and postpartum care, regional dances as physical activity, vertical birth simulations with the support person's participation, rituals like the burial of the placenta, use of medicinal herbs, the lliclla (traditional carrying cloth), hydrotherapy, massage therapy, aromatherapy, extended breastfeeding, and women's circles. Respecting diverse cultural practices is a core part of our approach

EVIDENCE WHERE RELEVANT:
These protocols have been successfully implemented in the Obstetric Psychoprophylaxis and Prenatal Stimulation course at the School of Obstetrics of the National University of San Marcos, as well as in postgraduate specializations at the National University Jorge Basadre Grohmann and the National University of San Martín. The evidence of their success includes training modules, methodological guides, educational materials developed, and videos

KEY MESSAGE:
Obstetric training must integrate an intercultural approach from prenatal education through childbirth and breastfeeding. This approach positions the obstetrician as a crucial agent of change, fostering trust, strengthening prevention, and contributing to a safe, respectful, and emotionally supported motherhood Spanish - respectful care (including three-minute presentation competition)
